    What is Hyoscyamine?

Hyoscyamine is a drug that is prescribed by a doctor to treat problems such as, irritable bowl syndrome, bladder incontinence, ulcers, cystitis bladder and other related stomach and bladder problems. In addition, Hyoscyamine is used to treat people who suffer from Parkinson’s disease, helps relieve asthma sufferers and aids in digestion and eases heart problems.

    Hyoscyamine Recall

The makers of the drug Hyoscyamine, Virtus Pharmaceuticals, issued a recall on September 14, 2016 on several of their inventory of Hyoscyamine. It was discovered, that the manufacturer of the drug had produced several batches that were too potent and consequently, produced severe side effects to those patients that took the drug. These super-potent Hyoscyamine pills, were only recalled by the Pharmaceutical company Virtus only after receiving reports that some patients that took the pills had suffered major side effects.
