OKLAHOMA CAR ACCIDENT FATALITIES
According to the Oklahoma accident report, three girls were in a Chevrolet van heading west on State Highway 51 around 1:00 in the morning, when their van broke down. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that three people – a 30-year-old man and two teen boys – began pushing the van while the girls remained inside the disabled vehicle. At that time, Michael Reed, 29, who was also driving west on Highway 51, crashed into the broken-down van. Dajai Brown and Karla Duenes, both only 17 years old, suffered fatal injuries in the tragic car accident, while the driver of the van, 16-year-old Sofia Gabrielson, sustained a head injury and was airlifted to OU Medical Center, where she remains in serious condition.

Of the three pedestrians who were helping to push the vehicle at the time of the accident, two were treated for their injuries at Stillwater Medical Center and released. The third pedestrian was not harmed in the collision, and Reed, the driver of the second car, was also treated and released from an area hospital. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol doesn’t yet know what caused Reed to crash into the van carrying the three Oklahoma City teens. Authorities report that he did not appear to be impaired, and the road conditions on Highway 51 were fine at the time of the fatal crash.
